About Us

OUR VISION:

Safe homes and communities for everyone.

OUR MISSION:

Repairing homes, revitalizing communities, rebuilding lives.

Our Leaders

Rebuilding Together Kern County is led by an all volunteer Board of Directors. Current Board members are Tony Martinez, President; Greg Collins, Vice President; Elva Martinez, Secretary; Sheryl Brady, Chief Financial Officer; and Lilli Parker, Board Member at large.

Life Changing Experience for Everyone

Several years ago our Vice President Tony Martinez, came upon a house where a blind couple was raising 10 children.  There was water in the walls and the house was infested.  With $10,000 in donations from Nations Bank and $20,000 from the community, he and the rest of the Rebuilding Together team was able to gut the house, fix the roof, and make it safe and livable again.  Rebuilding lives.  It's what we do.

Transforming Communities

Rebuilding Together is taking on a new form, where instead of working one day on one house and we might not be back in that neighborhood for a decade, now we will commit to a neighborhood and stay there for three years. By doing this we can build relationships with our neighbors.  When we then bring together skilled tradespeople, generous donors, and amazing volunteers we can do so much more than just repair homes. We can truly revitalize communities, and rebuild lives.

In 2018-2021 our projects will be in Bakersfield.
